Magazine Advert Designs
Idea One
For my first magazine advert idea, I decided to use the band's image. This is to show that they as a band have released this product together and provides them with the sense of success as opposed to using an image of just one of the band members. I also think that having the band's image on their would make it easily identifiable for the audience and could result in more social interaction for the band. I made sure to put the lead singer at the front compared to the other two band members, due to him being the more well-known member of the band thus making it easier for the audience to identify the band easily.
The typography within the magazine advert will be different shades of red. This is to continue to provide consistency throughout my work and all of my ancillary tasks/products. I also think that having red in the magazine advert provides the audience with the indication that this is a rock band. I will have the background as black and the typography in red, this allows the words to stand out from a distance and therefore allows a wider audience to see the advert but also because from my research, I know that these colours link very closely with the rock genre.

Idea Two
For my second magazine advert idea, I decided to have just an image of my main singer. This was to identify whether having a group image of the band or a singular image of the main singer would be most effective for promoting my band's image and upcoming media products. I think that this image works well with promoting their music and passion involved when singing. Despite this, I don't think this represents the band as a group and more the main singer as an individual. I also think that having him on his own does not promote the band's identity and I think this would have a negative effect on the band.
I also believe that by having a different image from the digipak may confuse the audience as the inconsistency of the products may influence them in believing these are two different bands or albums etc. Despite the image being not as effective as it could be, I think that the typography works well when trying to promote the band. I think that the curved edges provide an edgy feel for the band and that links back well to my rock genre research.
