Initial Ideas for my music video
Location ideas
An empty field

A drama studio - School

I would preferably shoot in the field during the afternoon when the sun is going down to link in with the mood of the song 'Run'. As the song mentions running and escaping reality, I think that basing parts of the song in a field and outdoor space it enforces the idea of escaping the reality (Stage) and running around freely.
The drama studio will be my main location for the 'Performance' part of my music video. I will place each member of the band similar to a diamond formation with the main singer closer to the camera and front of the stage and the drummer at the back.
Inside a School

For the narrative aspect of my music video, I would like to shoot in a school, particularly a classroom. The lead singer is portrayed as wanting to escape the school or the classroom, and i believe this works well with the theme of the song and the lyrics of 'Run'. I will also film him running away from the classroom and around school, perhaps bumping into people or even pushing them to the floor.

The formation of the band in the drama studio will be slightly different to Foo Fighter's 'The Pretender' as I will have the drummer at the back of the stage, but the guitarist will have their own row rather than being next to the lead singer. This expresses the lead singer's passion for the song and would make camera shots a lot smoother to shoot. I will have a microphone stand likewise to below as it enables the lead singer to be able to have a guitar in their hand and play along also.

The Pretender - Foo Fighters
Camera Shots
I would like my main singer of the band to have a lot of close-ups and camera shots to emphasise the band's image and also link my band to the Foo Fighters. he would also be grabbing the microphone in an aggressive but also dramatic way to enforce the perception of 'Rock'. I will also have tracking shots when the band are playing instruments during the chorus.

During part of the song 'Run', there is a slight drop in pitch and so to emphasise this to the audience, I will add a tilt in.

Different aspects of my music video 'Run'
Performance
I will set the performance location in a 'drama studio' at my school and have a range of instruments played by the members of the band. The instruments include: an electric guitar, microphone and drum kit. These instruments relate back to my research, as most bands and artists within the rock genre have electric guitars and drum kits in order to express their more aggressive side to the audience. This is through the use of violently drumming, shouting down the microphone and rapidly playing the guitar.
Narrative
For the narrative aspect of the music video, I will have the main singer 'Conor' wanting to run away from school as he just wants to escape the stress there.
