Analysis of editing decisions
I used I-Movie to edit my music video. I believe this worked well because the program was very easy to use, but also provided a very high quality and professional finish.

Another key editing decision I made, was to make the majority of the video black and white. I think this worked well with the style of music and the genre because the song is not an upbeat song as it is talking about running from your problems etc. I also think that the black and white overlay allows the narrative features in my music video to be promoted even stronger as opposed to having them in colour. It represents the main singer feeling isolated and the lack of colours used portrays this well.

During the middle of the music video, I provided a fun alternative to your average music video. I did this by having the song played over the top with the band playing the wrong instruments and when they suddenly realise, the colours fade from black and white to colour. When they have changed back to their instruments I then add the black and white filter to the footage again and then the song continues to play.
I believe this is a great concept to introduce to the audience as it can make them feel more of a part of the band and their music. The only criticism I have with doing this alteration within the music video is that it is such a fiddly process to achieve and some of the clips and sound may not have been cut appropriately in time with the music or the visual footage.

I made sure that my bloopers at the end of the music video were in colour. This works well as it contrasts the seriousness of the band's music video and provides the audience with a fun, extra added content.
